Why send your child abroad?

Do you want to help your child get a jumpstart on broadening his/her horizons and gaining valuable life experience in a fun and exciting way?Giving your child the opportunity to study abroad is the perfect way to do just that! In this increasingly global world, where cultures mix in a wide variety of waysin almost every setting, it is becoming increasingly important to understand other cultures and even other languages.Having an early start to developing this knowledge through international experience is valuable for many reasons.

Acquire valuable life skills

Studying abroad, in addition to opening up cultural horizons, also opens up personal horizons by increasing confidence and interpersonal skills, responsibility for one’s self and one’s learning, and open-mindedness about other cultures and customs. Experiencing a completely different way of life is valuable at any age, but especially for high school students, this opportunity will leave a significant impression of an alternate worldview and the countless possibilities that are open to them.

Educational growth

Our language and culture courses will allow your child to learn skills that will be valuable in their immediate setting and also in future education and possibly in a work setting. The grammar, history, and culture that are taught in the classroom can be seen and applied directly to the study abroad experience through conversations, trips to historical sites, and cultural activities. The college credit that can be earned with just two weeks abroad will also give your child an advantage in applying to and preparing for college. Language skills are useful in almost any course of study or career path.

Why Spain?

Spain is an increasingly popular destination for U.S. students who study Spanish because of its rich history of architecture, culture, and language. This country is characterized by its beauty and its tradition, which are clearly evident in the historical buildings, cobblestone streets, and the character of the cities. Castilla y Leon in Spain is the birthplace of the Spanish language, so when your child goes to Salamanca to study, he/she will be learning and speaking in the place where Spanish originated. The people of this region are said to speak the “purest” Spanish.

Salamanca, a student-friendly city

As a pedestrian city greatly influenced by the university culture, Salamanca is one of the safest cities for young students. There are plenty of fun things to see and do in the city, such as go for tapas (Spanish-style appetizers), meet up in the town square to shop, or just explore the sights. The city has a very historical quality, but it also has all the comforts of home, like wireless in the town square, which makes it easy to communicate with family back home.
